Hlane National Park, located in Eswatini, is the largest protected area in the country, covering up to 30,000 hectares. The park is characterized by its flat lowland terrain, adorned with hardwood trees like knob thorn acacia, Leadwood, and tamboti, along with grasslands and shallow water pans. It is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including lion, elephant, giraffe, white rhinoceros, wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, nyalas, and impalas. The park's waterholes attract numerous animals during the dry winter months, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Bird enthusiasts will find Hlane particularly appealing due to its abundant and diverse birdlife, including the highest density of nesting white-backed vultures and other large birds like martial eagles, bateleur eagles, and various species of vultures.

Hlane National Park also holds cultural and historical significance. It was proclaimed a National Park in 1967 and is managed by Big Game Parks, a privately-owned body responsible for all of Eswatini's national parks. The name "Hlane" means "wilderness" in siSwati, reflecting the park's unspoiled natural environment. Visitors can explore the park's rich biodiversity and learn about the unique flora, such as the Leadwood and tamboti trees, which have various uses and play significant roles in the ecosystem. With its combination of stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife, and cultural heritage, Hlane National Park offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and adventurers.
